I am happy to report I finished my first book last night, I read LA Times by Start Woods. I enjoyed it, it was a bit different then the usual stuff from him. That may be part of why I enjoyed it, I don’t think it would be a book I’d have picked up if not written by him. All in all, if your a fan of Stuart Woods check it out. As usual I keep the book reviewing to those actually good at it so check out the reviews at Goodreads :).
Today I’ll be starting Between the Bridge and the River by Craig Ferguson. This book has been on my list for a long time, I read his memoir An American on Purpose and really enjoyed it. I also listed to the audio book of it, I don’t usually enjoy audio books but it was fun to hear him tell his story.
How’s your Bout of Books going?
As a part of my 52 Goals in 52 Weeks I’ll be taking a photo every day! Each Sunday I’ll post the pictures taken from the previous Sunday-Saturday.

Although my normal life calender for both myself and my business is all electronic. I have always loved having a planner and being able to note my goals and life. This year I’m using this one to track my goals and progress towards those goals in 2012.

We enjoyed some Saturday afternoon model home browsing yesterday. It will never stop amazing me how much my kid loves doing that. It’s hilarious, he’s been fun to house shop with.
That brings us to the end of week 1!

I once again want to thank the awesome Amanda @ On a Book Bender for creating and continuing such a great read-a-thon. One of my favorite aspects is that there are all sorts of readers, reading all sorts, and reading all amounts. Some shoot for a lot more then I do, but I don’t feel any pressure to “compete” it’s all about enjoying your books, and isn’t that what it’s all about anyway?
Now time for my goals, once again I’m setting the lofty (and still unobtained) goal of 5 books. I’ve added the 5 books I’m going to try and ready to my special Bout of Books list on Goodreads (if you haven’t added me feel free to send a request over now). I’ll be starting with LA Times by Stuart Woods, this is one of the last three books by Stuart Woods (currently written) that I have left. And I’ll for sure read the next one due in April. I fell like it’s something of an accomplishment having read every Stuart Woods book, although I’ve done it with other authors he had so many already written when I started reading them it feels good to catch up I guess. Anyway, I will be updating as I finish books since I rarely finish a book daily, an update daily would be a bit boring. Stay tuned to by Goodreads for updates between books, I’ll post an update there each day.
I LOVE P!nk, and have since her first major album. She’s fun and fresh and honest and awesome! One of my favorite songs is Glitter in the Air. It’s such a beautiful song, I especially love the Grammy’s preformance of it a few years back, which is why that’s the one I’m sharing.
My favorite line – “Have you ever looked fear in the face and said I just don’t care”
I hope this post doesn’t end up sounding completly obnoxious but I am really happy.
In 2011 I decided something, I decided in January I was going to have a legit way to work from home by the end of the year. Over the course of the year I got involved in Freelance sites like oDesk and Elance. Also I worked on ChaCha for a while, thinking that was the best I could do. Now in December of 2011 I have a 6 month old business that is running a profit (hey it counts even if it’s not very large yet). And I’m embarking on expanding and starting a second business. Both allow me to work from home full time, and I absolutely love it! Now this was absolutely not a resolution, it was a goal that happen to be made in January and honestly I wasn’t sure it would happen. But I stuck with it, I spent hours searching, then working, and now building. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little proud of myself.
In the glow of success, I’ve decided to layout more business specfic goals for 2012, some are small but all of them help to complete major goals down the road. I encourage you to do the same, don’t make massive, abstract resolutions this year. Go simplistic, find small things you want to improve in your life. Those changes may help lead you to that major resolution.
